Need some help with setting the clutches up on my viper. Just bought a 02 vipr 700 with a set of ceramic coated slps and mild trail port work done just reringed and 1900 miles on. It has stock clutch weights, a black primary spring with yellow/white/yellow dotes on it that i believe is stock. I believe the helix is stock to and is wond with a black spring with a pink dot.
Can anyone help me with a aggressive trail clutch setup? also what gearing? arent slp suppost to run 8900 Rpms? if anyone could help me out it would be great. got some local radar runs comming up here in december and wanna see what it will do. thanks guys

slp's run @ 8800-9000 rpm. are you sure that isn't a red dot on the spring. pink spring wouldn't be needed.
What length radar runs? If you are short dist, than leave stock. If 3000-5000' (all out lake run) than gear taller.
No idea on turks comment that SLP's clutching specs are correct, but for Ontario I found their jetting to be very rich (bottom end). I'm running heel clicker at or above SRX specs.
Mopar is correct with RPM. Seems my sled likes 9100 measured both by seat and radar.
I've jetted way down (bottom end only) and still find it very rich. Hate to say it but I will probably blow it up before I am happy. Very fat on low end, but safe for mile long lake pulls. 7mpg trail riding is killing me... ouch... ouch...ouch.. Hey is that a gas station?

The Slp clutching is all stock parts with maybe a little more weight in the primary but from a buddy of mine that had a viper with slps told me that setup sucked and he got smoked by a few worked F7s.
my buddy recommended Srx weights tunned to run recommended Rpms, a green/white/green primary spring, Srx secoundary spring with a yamaha 51/43 helix. are he put that setup he started running with those f7's. what do you guys think of this setup?also do i have to change roller sizes or should i leave them stock?
The radar runs are 1000'. I guess my primary clutch has some sort of overdrive kit? Dont really know anything about this kit, if anyone can fill me it that would be great. How do heel clickers work in a piped viper? does the primary have to be notched to work with the original heel clickers? what about the 2 speed heel clickers? if i was to buy a set witch ones would be the best ones to run? also what about gearing? leave it stock?

Can't comment of the setup you posted, never tried it. TURK could probably make an educated guess as to how it would work.
Depending on the version of heel clickers the primary may have to be notched slightly. I really do not recommend the "2 speed" clickers, they are very difficult to setup (so I hear). Anyway, they work very well on a piped viper expecially with shallow finish helix. Stock rollers are explosive with clickers, use 15 or 15.6.
1000' you don't want overdrive. You could leave the gearing stock, or drop a tooth on top.
