I know I am going to catch crap for this but oh well. I hope Favre tears that crappy 3-4 defense to shreds and puts Teddy Thompson out of a job next season!!

Go Brett!

Not looking for a battle of words or whatever but, I hope the "its all about me" whiner Favre gets his A$$ handed to him on a silver platter. I dont expect it but...one can only hope.

I used to respect him but...he has shown what a "man of integrity" he really is!!

I only wish I could go to the sports bar in Eau Claire that is hosting the "burn the Favre memorabilia" party tonight & donate to thier charity drive as was advertised in USA Today last Thur!! Now, that would be fun!! ;)!

I pitched ALL of our Favre stuff once he came back to the game, to sign with the Vikings, after the what, 3rd time of "I am retiring". Oh well, he may win tonight...but...he sure as hell will not be in any more super bowls. He will implode before the end of the season!!

You Viking fans enjoy the wins while you got them & he is still taking his "Ensure & Geritol" liquids!! LOL !!! Look at his last few years...Hmmm??

And that is all I have to say!! Should be a fun game to watch.

im not a viks fan, but tonight iam, i hope they outplay the pack only because there wouldnt have been an issue if they would have released farve from his contract!!!!!!!!!!! then farve wouldnt have had to do what he did to still play, i believe he was forced to retire from the pack and then held in limbo so he couldnt go anywere in the conference, if the main office really thought rodgers was the man they shouldnt care where farve goes. the media doesnt no or care about the facts just watch the world news just slightly leaning LOL!!!! just my thoughts

not a fan of either, but I think this is gonna be THE game of the season to watch, whoever wins, wins, it doesnt matter to me

Favre definitely played a solid game. No milestones were made of course, but he played a solid game. Vikings O-line did a great job giving him time to throw. Rodgers really got the snot pounded out of him.

YES SIR! Way to go Mr. Ted Thompson!

Great day to live in WI and watch Brett and his team take care of the Packers with little to no help from Peterson.

WARNING: THE FOLLOWING IS MY BEST ESTIMATION OF HOW THE VIKES/ THE PACK/ FAVRE GOT TO WHERE WE ARE TODAY.......

No1Chevy -- your words are my sentiments EXACTLY.....

At some point in time a few years ago, the Packers made up their mind for Rodgers over Favre..... they thought he was too old and lost his skills. maybe threw too many INT's. But they decided to go with Rodgers before he left for another team. Was that right or wrong? Who knows. They were looking towards the future. The decision was made by Packer management.

They knew Favre would never accept a back up role (can you imagine Favre EVER being a backup QB? Are you kidding me? The "iron man" of football a back up? No way.... They knew would not happen). So they knew they had to get him off the team somehow. But then they sought to dictate who, what, when, and where Favre could do with hte rest of his career -- they even convinced him to retire, as that would be the easiest route....

JMO, but I think that really got Favre pissed. Really pissed. He felt the organization turned on him/screwed him over. He believed they chose another (Rodgers) over him (which they did), and THEN it appeared they also were trying to take his playing days away from him.

Favre appears to be a very prideful man and football is his life. He loves the game and loves to play. He knows he is the best (which he is -the best QB EVER. Period. Nobody has ever been better). So then he decided to play elsewhere, and the Vikes recruited him with open arms (Can you blame them?). but then the Pack tried to thwart that decision also (In Favre's mind at least), by dictating where he could go.

Now along comes Wilf -- Mr. New York. He is basically a land baron there -- and guaranteed he knows the Jets owner well. The Jets tried out Favre for a year and it did not work out. Favre never really "joined" that team. Did he know he would be a Vike this year? Maybe or maybe not. It would not suprise me.

But let's just believe there was no larger conspiracy and Vikes were not involved yet. What happened next was Jets went another direction and drafted Sanchez. No longer need Favre then, right?

Definitely by now Wilf is making his New York connections work and he convinces Jets to unconditionally release Favre, which is what happened. That move is completely unprecedented and unexplained. But it happened. Hmmmmmmm. Makes one really wonder......

Now Vikes get involved with Favre, openly courting him. But Favre just simply is not going to attned training camp anymore. He just won't do it. Right or wrong. He believes he doesn't need to.......

Make him a bad team player? Probably. But if you want Favre, one needs to accept this. Maybe Packers refused to accept this fact, which is why it did not work out there.

But the Vikes accpeted it, which is why he joined them 8/19 -- 2 days after training camp broke. Gee, coincidence?

I do not believe that stupid phone call excuse Childress claimed. That's B.S. This was all preplanned 100% by Wilf and Favre and his agent, Bus Cook.

Wilf is smart and knows he needs the $$ and excitement Favre will bring. And it's working. The move will also get Wilf the new stadium he wants -- just watch.

As a fan (I was at the game last night), I'm happy because the best QB ever is a Vike. Wilf is happy and will get his stadium. Favre is happy because he is playing, which he always intended to do. Lots of Packer fans last night were 100% behing Favre because they love him. Only a few were calling him a traitor.

I think Favre loves the Pack and will go to the Hall of fame as a Packer. But he hates the current mngt there. Can you blame him?. IMO, if I were a fan of the green and gold, I'd be calling for the Packer mangement's heads. They let this happen by picking Rodgers over Favre. but I suppose there was no way to keep both of them and they felt they had to plan for the future. But it WOULD NOT have been the decision I'd make.

So here we are. He's a Vike. His arm appears to have lost nothing. If he stays healthy he may get another Super Bowl Ring -- anything is possible.

This is just my thoughts on how it all went down.......

Mike

Put Rogers on the Vikings team and Favre on the Packers team last night and the outcome would have been the same - the Vikings have the complete package and are going to be hard to beat until Favre starts throwing interceptions - but then they have Peterson to fall back on who adds a huge dimension to their game - to say Favre is the best quarterback that ever played the game is a pretty tall statement - one that I don't agree with - he is one of the most entertaining - kind of the Dale Ernhardt of football with more drama - I respect the guy and enjoy watching him play, but no more than I've enjoyed watching ALOT of other great quarterbacks over the years - I agree with mntvipermn as to how things unraveled between Favre and the Packers - I think it is great that he can still play and should do so as long as he desires! -so GO COLTS!!

Yammiman- you need to open you eyes and look at who your looking at. Brett is the best of all time, you look at all the junk receivers he had and the line hes also been behind. Aaron had numerous times to dump the ball off to a back or to a TE but didnt cause he is nothing like Brett. And funny thing is the Packers have given up 3 100 yard rushing games and look what AP did, 52 yards. The gave the ball to Brett and Childress said its yours to win and he did exactly that. Zero mistakes, unlike Aaron who had 2 turnovers and probably another 3 by getting sacked and not getting rid of the ball.

Coles 55 you are absolutely right - I need to open my eyes - I did not see the Vikings make 8 sacks to the Packers 0 - one of which resulted in a safety (not to mention the hurries) - I did not see the Vikings make 3 first downs off from penalties to the Packers 0 (at crucial times of the game) - I did not see Rogers out pass Favre by 71 yards - I did not see Favre stand in the pocket for 7 seconds (longer than most of us have sex!! LOL!!) to Rogers 3 to 4 seconds at best - like I said, Favre is a great quarterback that I have alot of respect for - but did he win that game last night by himself? - not even close - I stand by my original observation - switch quarterbacks and the result would have been the same, only the Vikings would have scored more!!!

P.S. - I forgot to mention the dropped passes by Rogers receivers - one of which was in the end zone that would have made the game tied!!

Should of kicked the field goal when it was 4th and goal instead of going for the touchdown and then on the last drive they could of gone for the touchdown instead of the field goal. May of been the game. We will get them in Green Bay!!!!!!!!!!!
