I am addicted to deals. I search hi and low constantly on all sorts of forums and classifieds for deals on anything. I have to say the one constant I have noticed on all non yamaha related sites is that there are hardly any yamahas for sale as appose to the other brands. That makes me feel my choice in sleds was wisely chosen. Now, bring on the snow!

It is widely known and published that Yamaha quality is second to none and the resale values,4 strokes especially,is far above the other brands no matter what guys riding another brand may say.Just check the classified ads and look at what the Yamahas are selling for vs the others.

Yep,yamaha is the best,The only downfall of loving yamaha is as a buyer, its very hard to find one for cheap. LOL I cant find an srx for less than $2500 in my area. YAMAHA RULES!!!!!!!!!

Man you guys get some great deals on sleds, here in Newfoundland an SRX would go for about 4-5 grand!!! I seen a 1999 SRX sell for 3500 and it wasn't mint but wasn't bad either.
As for the quality of Yamaha, its second to none, sure Ski-doo has a lighter chassis but all that weight loss has compromised strength of the chassis from what I've seen. If I was going to buy a new sled, it would be a Yamaha, the only other sled I would even consider would be the Polaris Assault, and only if they figured out how to keep pistons in them, I mean, people buy new sleds so they don't have to worry about major breakdowns, but if you put 3 sets of pistons in a BRAND NEW sled in 1000 miles, I think that means its time to head to Yamaha

its funny, I had this argument with a die-hard skidoo friend of mine yesterday, and I asked him exactly that. I said "You look on any forum, on ebay, anywhere, why is it you see thousands of cats and polaris, hundres of skidoos, but maybe 3-4 yammy's for sale"? He sat there, stunned, didnt know what to say...
Then i added salt to the wound.. I said, your summit X blew up how many times before you hit 8000kms? then proceeded to show my odometers which shows 15,567 KM and I only re-did piston and rings last year....PROactively

Exactly, I see this all the time, TONS of poo's and cats, some doo's and hardly any Yamaha's, and they last thousands and thousands of miles with no problems, and faster than most sleds and the weight difference isn't actually all that much yet people say they are junk, and are worthless, IMO they are just jealous of the power and reliability and quality of Yamaha's You get what you pay for, spend the extra 2 grand on a new Nytro instead of the Polaris and you'll save your money from repair bills after the warranty's out, not to mention, the Nytro's are weight tested and were lighter than the Polaris IQ's fully wet with 5 gallons of gas in each sled, so thats something to say about 4 strokes with up to date technology.

What kills me is that after seeing some of these local grass drags, 2 different SRXs were running in improved 800 and stock 800 classes and still handing out whoopass to all the newer (and probably lighter) sleds...

I witnessed the lack of yamaha's for sale a few weeks ago when I was at the Wausau Grass Drags/swap meet.* There were rows and rows of Cat, Doo, and Polaris sleds and parts.* I found only one vendor of some Yammi parts where he was parting out a 98 and 02 SRX.* I also found a trailer with three 90's vintage V-Max's.* That was it.* You could have had a fleet of Firecats if you wanted.* I was disappointed with the amount of Yamahas in the drags, I only saw three or four. I learned my lesson, had three Yammi's then went to Cat, that didnt last very long.*
