Rebuilding Primary and Secondary Clutches

I have a 99 600 sx with about 4000 miles. I have not replaced or rebuilt any wearable components on the primary and secondary (aside from the buttons on the secondary). Is there a kit where I can all the pieces, can anyone point me in the right direction?

Also - I am in need of one front heat exchanger protector, does anybody have any used ones they are willing to sell???

I'm not aware of a comprehensive rebuild kit if that's what you're looking for. I've done a couple of sleds and it gets pricey to just end up with stock performance in the end. Seeing as you have a big bore kit and pipes, you likely wouldn't want to stay stock anyway.

If not, go to the TY Home page and then to the bottom left of the page. Click on the yamaha parts catalog banner and then follow the buttons into your year and model sled to find the yami part numbers for the parts/kits.
I have the same sled and rebuilt both clutches at about 5K miles. to my surprise when I took them apart, they looked like they really didn't need the rebuild but, with your big bore kit and added H.P. you may need it.

Thanks for the information. I was thinking that I may have to just piece it all together. Regarding the setup, I have a specific setup for the mods, but am just interested in replacing the bushings, washers, etc that tend to wear over time. Thanks again.
 
Hey Fonz, yeah you did buy a front heat exchanger protector for a 94 vmax 600. They are different on the 99 sx. At the end of the season, I performed a systems check and discovered one was missing up front. I'll probably either try to fabricate a replacement or just bite the bullet and buy a new pair.
 
yamaha does have a complete kit to replace parts in the primary but not for the secondary. Also there are after market kit for both that have every thing you need i do not know how good they are
