I've heard that Mountain Viper bars are 2" taller than Mountain Max bars. If this is the case, is the throttle cable longer, as well? I have a buddy looking to get more rise on his MM, but isn't sure he wants to spend the cash for a 4-6" riser. Thought that a 2" riser with Mtn Viper bars may do the trick, and just buy a longer brake line and throttle cable. Any thoughts?

I Went To A 5 1/2 Rox Riser On My 01 Mm
Route The Throttle And Oil Cable Over The Air Box
Then Get An Extended Brake Line.

i think the bars are a little more than 2". yes the cables are longer. doing this swap soon on 01mm to 04 viper bars. plan on rerouting cables and making it work. let you know how it comes out, if your not in a big rush. should be a week or two.triplefastaction said:I've heard that Mountain Viper bars are 2" taller than Mountain Max bars. Did you break the pin off of the stock bars before you installed the Rox riser? If you break off the pin, do you still need a pivot adapter, or does this compensate for the stock angle?

Exactly -- if you break the pin off, no need for a pivot riser. My Mnt Viper came with a 2" block riser the prior owner installed on it. To go any longer, i'd have to extend my throttle cable -- too much of a PITA and it's plenty tall enough now!triplefastaction said:Did you break the pin off of the stock bars before you installed the Rox riser? Here is a link to a good thread on this:

I don't remember a pin on the MM.
The nice part about a pivot riser especially the Rox
is that it pivot's at the steering post and at the bars.
It is very easy to find that comfort spot that is different for everyone
depending on their riding style

All true M-Max, but he wanted to put Mnt Viper bars onto his MM as I read the initial post.
I love ROX items, especially risers. I use one on my Attak. Here's a pic:
But after I removed the pin on my MNt Viper with the added 2" standard riser on mine, I found I did not need a pivot riser.

put the mtn viper bars on the mtn max, didnt have to extend anything. viper bars were easily 2" taller. room for probably 1.5" if you reroute, i didnt. worst part was trying to salvage the hand warmers. feels alot better, but i am used to taller bars. should be a nice addition for the wifes sled.triplefastaction said:I've heard that Mountain Viper bars are 2" taller than Mountain Max bars. How much longer are the Viper Mtn cables than stock MM cables? Thanks.
