why would someone have sleeves installed in 2000 srx 700 cylinders? what would the pros and cons be? would it be easier to big bore?

They might have had them installed due to a meltdown or engine failure! Not sure on the BIG BORE part!

What size is the bore?
Bender's 835's were sleeved cylinders, and some of the 800 big bores were sleeved as well, but there aren't too many out there. Every 780 I have ever seen has been nikasil. There would be no reason to sleeve a 700 motor.

I don't think you can resleeve these cylinders, they are a nickle cil plated cylinder. If you damage them they have to be sent away to be replated, or thrown in the trash. Without running a nickle-cil lined cylinder you couldn't keep the engine from running to hot. These engines are very close tolorances and need to be to make the power they do. I would think there would only be a small handfull of guys out there that could pull off building a big bore 700; but lots of $$ can get you most anything.

The SRX cylinders can be sleeved, but if you want a 835, leave it to the experts! Try to pick up a used Bender 835 kit or purchase one from them. There is sooo much involved with building and setting up a big bore that is only for the people that do this for a living to build! Bender Racing has spent timeless hours of maching, testing, dynoing, breaking parts ect ect. It is probably quite a bargain to be able to buy it and bolt it on with jetting/clutching/gearing already figured out for you.
