Anybody used Loctite 518 for sealing crankcase halves? Comments?

i never have used the loctite stuff before. i used yamabond before, which is the same as the 1104 and 1194 stuff by threebond. also, motoseal??.....its made by permatex and also works as i've been told. never used it personally before.

i,ve used the 515 stuff before,works just fine.i think some oem's maybe polaris or skidoo recomend it . the 518 should be fine also it just takes a while longer to cure than the 515 . personaly i perfer the yamabond or threebond that mopar mentioned.

I have used the Yamabond in the past as well but I see that they are specifying the Loctite 518 for ultra lite engines, some Lycoming, as well as Porsche 911 engine cases. Thought it might be worth a try.

I used a loctite product when I re-did my dads v-max(not sure of the number) but it was a 2 part deal, the sealer and what they called i believe a primer. Will have to check out in the shop the next time I'm out there.
