Ok all you detail oriented sled owners, Lets hear your best tips on how to get my sled back to show room.
I have an 04 that I just can't part with........ but she is getting a bit used looking. I perfer to keep it stock looking. Here are me objectives to give her a make over.
Engine- case and carbs got that dull tarnished look
Radius rods and trailing arms have knicks and rust spots (northern il corn feild riding)
Tunnel needs re-polished (bought some super duper magic polish at the mil snow show The aluminum can dude)
Any other idea's?
Thanks in advance for your tips.

I can't part with mine, either! I'll have a left side trailing arm that is actually in nice shape, straight and relatively rust free - but I won't have it off for a couple of weeks!

Lots-o-elbow grease for cleaning including scotch bright pads.

To keep it looking good and retard galvanic corrosion, spray everything down (under hood, track, susp. etc...) with silicone or Amsoil metal protector in the off season. Even WD is better then nothing but it doesn't seem to hold up as well as silicone or the Amsoil metal protector.

Wipe it on the door seals of your car to keep them from freezing in the winter after a car wash.

If your up to doing a bit of disassembly you can do what I generally do every couple of years and that is take the front end parts all off, trailing arm and radius rods, sand and repaint them.As for the various bolts, which I'm sure are getting ratty looking too, find yourself a good fastener supplier and replace everything with stainless where possible. That isn't as easy as it sound as some places don't carry a big variety of metric stainless fasteners or they may require you to buy a whole box of them in order to get the half a dozen you need.
As far as polishing the tunnel as mentioned lots of elbow grease will be needed or you may try one of those Mothers power ball polishers or one like it.I've never used one before but I've heard they work good.

ya, i use a mother ball on my tunnells and they come out like a mirror. But make sure you do it once and awhile because when you leave them, they will def. be hard to polish.
