Why did Yamaha go away for this filter? Would it hurt anything to add it on newer sleds? Looking for thoughts and comments.
I don't know why they got away from adding this item but I couldn't imagine it hurting anything by adding it back on.

they went away with it because it was too coarse a filter didnt do any good(had to be to flow) and flow worries.
not needed, oil stays clean no dirt in the winter to worrie about anyway.

When it is -30 out where i live, we still sled up to our warm up shack and cook up some sausage, and have a shot, the oil viscosity tends to thicken up so a filter is a restriction in the system, fiction and fact from tntmax almanac!!!! cheers pray for snow.
