All you need is the measurements from the driven shaft to the first bolt holes and then from them to the back holes correct?

That won't work. You would have to use more of a pythagorean theorem approach. If you just drop all the holes down 3 in. you will find that you will not have enough slack in the track to play with. Dropping the rear suspension mounting point will not equate to dropping the front suspension point 3 in. Also, if you want to do it right, you will have to do some more figuring out to get the sled to sit somewhat level again in the rear. To drop suspension 3 in. in the rear you would have to lower the mounting point and then bring it forward some (towards front of sled). Otherwise your sled will look like a wedge with the nose point down. (Even raising front end with longer travel, the suspension will not sit flat like it should without compensating). A little figuring of geometry and you can easily figure out where to put new holes.

You need to make sure the measurements will remain the same. So this means that the skid will need to be moved forward just like sxviper said. Now, once you do this the angle of attack will be changed as well. If it is too steep you will not have any traction on hard pack. Do you still have the original template that came with your
M-10? I lowered mine an addition 1/2 inch when I first installed mine because I love to play in powder and wanted an improved approach angle, but 3"s maybe to much.

this is the reason i want to go 3 i have drop brackets that have a 2.5 in hole and a 3. I would like to do 2.5 but i wont be able to put a bolt in a hole that will hit the heat exchanger. here are some pics of the sled with m10 in original mount holes i just might leave skid alone for this year.
I do have templite for the M10

Can I have your billet Wheels for mine?
Where did you get them and how did you get them to work? Fast says I can not get larger diameter wheels for my skid.
Tough call on the dropping, it looks like it is set up right for your sled, except for the dragging flap. If you drop it more you will need to take in the front limiter strap to regain your ability to steer, and it will suck in the deep stuff, you will loose a lot of angle and track length.
