I just got the Boss Seats for our sleds, I am very undecided if I like it. The fit and finish is ok but not great. the seat changes the complete look of the sled to me. The mounting is very cheap, two snaps and 5 strips of velcro. No application for a tail light. The seat does not fit the tunnel exactly, the seat tapers in the rear, showing the tunnel top. I really do like the way the seat feels though. I guess I will keep the seats and test this winter. Some of the storage panels are useless though. It may have 10 different storage areas. By the way I bought the high rise seat, normally for 400 bought for 360 each, including shipping. I believe the seat looks better on the SX dlx than it does on the Viper or SXR. Now I have to fabricate up a tail light. Al

I prefer the higher riding position that the Boss Seat offers. The standard seats are low and don't offer the natural riding position that the Boss does. I noticed the 99 SX seat is higher than the 2002 Viper seat by 1" Odd. I wished the Boss seat would just look better. Al

The word is that it will make your sled ride way better and feel like it has several more inches of rear suspension travel.I'm with you though and am not sure if I like how they look.

Stick with the Boss and never look back....

Look at it this way..... The hard part is over, Boss actually got your seat made and it's in your possession. From here on out, just enjoy the difference it will make! I predict you will like it.

Just buy an LED light from about anywhere and drill a few holes in the back of the seat, run the wire through and up to the stock wire. Then hook them up. Trust me, it's easy. I am not an electrician and it took me 5 minutes.

I've not met a single person who didn't think the Boss seat was night and day better than the stock seat on either the Viper or SRX. But try it and judge for yourself......

Thanks MTN MAX, the seats I bought are similar to yours but does not have the blue color, and has many more storage compartments. I did a final count of finding 12 different storage pouches. The seat does look better on the aluminum tunnel rather than the painted blue tunnel. I already have an LED light coming, a 14" light bar I really cannot bolt on like yours due to haveing bulging pouches where your light is. but the light bar will fit just above the snow flap. thanks Al

That Velcro may look flimsy, but it has yet to come off except when I want it too.

Spend some time looking at all of the different setups with Boss seats on www.snowest.com. There are some really nice looking setups.

I like the handlebars raised as well to match.

The seat is way better that the stock seat if you ride off-trail at all. However, on long cold trail rides (usually to get back home from boondocking) it can get very cold.

too bad BOSS didn't at least mount the taillights like they used too. can't believe they figured the only people buying BOSS seats are mountain riders.

Here's my new seat on my chassis...
Looks awesome!

I had to custom order mine and I made it even a tad taller and a tad wider than even the standard Highrise Widetop. Then contours a little bit more where legs are.

Dirtjumper, the seat you have is the exact seat's I bought. How much did you pay if I can ask? Mine was $360 including shipping. It took about 10 days to recieve. I have ordered a light bar. The more I look at the seat on the Viper the more I like it. It just doesn't do anything looks wise for me on the SXR painted tunnel. Al

I paid 405 shipped... I couldnt find anywhere cheaper... Dang.... But i did get it 5 days after i ordered it... I dont have a taillight yet, but im working on that soon.

where did you get it for $360 shipped? Great price IMO...... If you would pm me and let me know who's shipping them out for that cheap!

Mine was ALOT more $$$$ but it was a special order deal. I will say, it broke the bank last year but I am extremely happy with it when I ride!

Boss Seats are now being mass produced, and are no longer all hand made. I am not sure if you can even get a custom seat from them anymore. You can pretty much just order one off the shelf, for about $360.

Here's their new site. http://bossseats.com/bossseats/

BTW, my buddy has a seat almost identical to yours, has the extra rise, shovel pouch....etc. Only difference is that it doesn't have the blue stripe, its just all black. It is a nice seat.

How big are these 12 compartments? No light? = $40 for parts and your time, drilling holes in seat to attach lights? Still have a kid behind me, plus I would not be able to bend that far over to push 120.... Plus when I hit the jump U bet my arr is not going to be on the seat anyway.....
