95-96 v-max xt

i know they offered the regular v-max in a 136" in 94 but i cant find anything on the 95-96 xt. am i correct in thinking the rails are diffrent from the v-max to the v-max xt.

xt's do have differnt rails there the first version of the proaction suspention

ok narrows it down to i need 95-96 xt 136" rails. thanks every1.

No they did not offer a 96 XT(the only year for a pogostick XT) with a 136" track. Sandmaster is correct, it was the first year for the pro-action suspension so you may be able to use rails from a newer 136" pro-action skid.

i pretty sure the 94-96's came with a 3/4" lug , will a 1" lug fit in these ?

it will fit right in. about 1 3/16 is max without a driver changeout. drop to 8t and you can almost do 2". put a bunch of the .92 (7/8" ish) in to those chassis with no issues.

not committing to the studs, as we dont run them out here, but if your front heat exchanger is protected, you should be good to go. 94-96 tunnels were the same, xt had way more travel with the p/a skid, but the chaincase and drivers were the same location. if the skid and track is still in there, mock up a stud and spin it through. pay close attention at the bulkhead area. thats where the issue lies. i do have a driveshaft with 8t drivers for that sled, non extrovert, if you need them. make you a good deal. Joe?

yeah.... windshield looks smokin ;)!. thanks again. kickin around some diffrent ideas with this sled. just replace the 121 , or stretch it to 136... i can get a set of 98 136 rails and a track , but dont know if the 96 xt parts will swap over.

man, i just sold that 136 p/a skid awhile back, from a 97 vmax 4 mountain. would have been the same as what your looking for. i would bet the 98 rails are real close. i think they were the same until 99. run a microfishe check, like you probably already have and see. a good cross reference i use is yamahasportsplaza.com, i think(without looking at the favorites). run through the rigamarole for the part your looking for, jot the pt# down(or cut and paste as you computer know hows do), enter into the parts look up side and it will show you every model that part interchanges with. good luck.

good question. under hood fire apparently. when i got it it was just a carcass, bulkhead, struts, tunnel, and skid. sold the bulkhead and struts to someone that made a trailer out of it, why i dont know. finally scrapped the tunnel. had too many leaning against the wall. kinda sad really, if i only new then what that sled could have been worth.

O.K. after hearing the story feel like i could puke. and it's not even my sled.

blk04700,

I would just by a set of extensions for your P/A suspension and a 136" track. You probably will have to get a different rear cooler and a tunnel extension also.

is it my imagination or are the 94-96 tunnels over an inch wider than 97 and up ?

i picked up a front pivot shaft i found in the garage and went to go stick it in my 97 thinking it went to that sled and it was too long. ended up checking it to my tunnel from my 95 xt and it fits that one , so i guess starting in 97 the tunnels are about an inch narrower.
