I bought a 98 srx 700 for a second sled and been thinking of what to do with the handle bars. would just like to see what else everyone else has done.

Viper Bars? Cat bars? Or just a riser?

put a 2 inch riser on it, your dealer has them with the lengthened bolts in a pack, its a 10 min change, and you can stand up and ride no problem.. gotta be the cheapest and fastest way to go..

just added a 3" Sportech ABR riser on mine without cable extensions. I had to move the throttle cable out of the bracket on the handlebar mount to gain a bit of extra length. I started it and turned the bars both ways and all is fine.

Not if I find a nice set of bars. I think I might just go with cat ones since thats what I am use to on my firecat.

i put a set of chromoly RSI bars on my viper, the back country bend. you can still use your stock bar pad to hide all the wires.

What kind of heater did you use? Did you have any problem since yamahas hand warmers get so warm?

i put new OEM grips on. drilled a hole in the bars and riveted them in. no problems. i put a 2" block and a isovibe bar riser on as well.

not sure if cables will be long enough on the srx.

I'm installing a 3" Fly Racing riser (4" with adapter) and I needed cable extensions. I think the most you can go without extensions is 2" maybe 3".....
