electric start switching sleds?

I got a 98 vmax 700 and a 00 sxr 700 to choose from.

I want to put this on my 01 sxr 700. I do know the starter will fit and the flywheel should fit but I am worried about the electrical parts.

I would actually like to pull this from the 98 700 since this sled is going to be sold soon hopefully..

anyone know?
 
Starter mount

The triple kits are supposed to be the same. The twins are different. If you go to a Yamaha parts lookup, you can check the part numbers of the two flywheels. I go to WWW.staryamaha.com - go to the parts finder on the left, and look up the two sleds. You can check by kit number or the flywheel and starter numbers.

Is there an aftermarket starter kit you can buy, by any chance, as I am having a heck of a time finding parts.

If I had a wirering for dummies Yamy book I may attempt it, lol.

Also I know I can get a brand new one off ebay, battery at any part store, solenoid, I am guessing Yammy specific. Ring Gear I need as well. And the one part I really do not want to buy from yamaha is the bolts, I know I will get stabbed in the back for the 3 bolts for the starter.

Either way, I may not do it now since I fixed the pull start, was really hard to pull over, turned out the previous owner was using a rubber grommet where the rope goes into the recoil, and each time you pull it was like pulling over a 2000cc motor. removed it today and it pulls over as easy as my old 500. And this was in -30C.
 
solenoid

Solenoid size is an issue but if I recall the older Dodge/Chryslers had small solenoids. All the key crank wire and charge wire are already in place just need to connect up.
