Can someone please educate me, I have set up my 2001 srx rear skid for long travel, center and rear shocks came from a 2004 Viper S, limiter straps and stock adjustable longer transfer rods for a 2002 Viper. I mounted the transfer rods in the rearmost holes in the rail as per dealer instruction. I just put the skid back in, and my question is this, should the ride height be greater in the rear with this setup? it looks the same as when I started. also, does anyone know if the center shock should be longer from the 2004 viper s to the 2001 aluminum body center shock from the 2001 srx? I have been reading BETHEVIPER's post on suspension, just curious if it should be sitting higher now with the longer travel components.

The stock srx is 17" eyelet to eyelet so the viper i believe is 18.5" or 19"

those are the new vs. old shocks, you were right kirk, the new shock is longer. ok, next question, i mounted the transfer rods in the rearmost holes on the rails. was this right or should i have stuck with the origional t-rod locations?

I never changed holes for my transfer rods I just changed white bushings.this gave me 3/4 " extra rise I have a 98 Srx From the ground to bottom of rear bumper is 22 "

so i should mount my rods back in the origional location? i shouldn't need to worry about the spacers if i have adjustable rods now? i thought mounting the longer viper transfer rods in the origional locations would bend/break something?

i shouldve checked my bumper height before i left the shop, get to do that in the morning now...
Not sure if this will help you but I put Viper shocks in my sx. My bumper heights did not change nor did my ski alignment. I used the stock transfer rods. I just replaced the thicker bushing with the thinner one. Also used the longer limiter straps like you did.

I believe the viper and the sx's had the same 11" rear travel!stein700sx said:Not sure if this will help you but I put Viper shocks in my sx. You are going to want the longer rods mounted in the rear holes.. If U put them in the front U will bend supension components ( relay rods) and to much pressure on front shock bushings. suspension will will not work as intended...
