i bought this srx with a cold air kit and a gutted airbox, i'm jetted pretty good right now for this box, but the previous owner had some fascination with yellow paint and the airbox is yellow. i have a stock box kicking around and was wondering if it would actually run better with the cold air kit and the stock box (rejetted of course, plus it wouldn't be yellow) just wondering if anyone has actual experience with the cold air and gutted vs stock box

I usually gut my air box in the spring above 0 C! In the winter At 30 below C I put it all back in! When it hits 50 below 0 I double check my plugs!

Dont run with hood open and no one will know............
I will know when I blow up on the trail! And thats not what I want to do here in Labrador, with every one that rely's on a Yaammi for a tow home!

I run with my dividers and shelf in, seems to work better than a fully open box. Swap it out and get rid of the yellow.

if that is a bender cold air kit, they recommended removing part of the shelf and the dividers. not sure if i still have the install literature, but if i run across it, i will let you know if there was anything pertinent. been in there so long i dont remember.

well, i found the box it came in but no paperwork. dividers and the top shelf with the three ports are in the box. so i would assume i followed benders recommendations and removed these items. this was on a 98, put it on in 99. probably no one left at bender with any knowledge of these, but may be worth a call.

Never had luck with gutted airbox with big temperature swings. Cost me about $500 last time!
