good morning everyone, i have a question for everyone, does the 2001 srx run standard green coolant? what is the best way to change it? i have a coolant flush machine here at the shop, can i use that to backflush the system, and also, is there any sort of air bleed procedure? someone told me there is a bleed screw under the seat? thanks guys

yes there is a bleeder under the seat and a drain at the front of the motor. i dont think you need to flush it my dealer says theres still 81 srx's with factory coolant, i changed mine when i pulled the motor on the 98 and when i changed the tunnel and exchangers on my o1, dealer said use aluminum compatable coolant. there is a procedure in the shop manual for draining and filling coolant.

But make sure to get something thats compatable with aluminum!! or you will start having corosion happenin in there... and if you get corosion build up say goodbey to ur exchangers and what ever else the coolent runs through
Most coolent is compatible with aluminum but just make sure....

thanks for the info guys, i used ZEREX G-05 coolant, I work for chevy, so i have all kinds of dexcool laying around, but i think zerex is a better choice for this machine.
