I have a 200 srx 700. have heard that the 01 and 02's were diffrent, ive also heard the vipers were too, diffrent port timing or something, was wondering if it would help to try to find one to swap out with my stock one. also wondering what the diffrence is between them and the programmed ones from people such as bender. Thanks.
srx are the same ,,,02 got dts system that all
-SRX Heads + Cylinder ports are the same from 2000 thru 2002
-SRX CDI boxes are interchangeable between the 2001 + 2002 but only the 2002 CDI has DCS
-The 2000 SRX has a CDI box that is unique to it and its wiring harness...not a "plug + play" with the 2001 + 2002
-1998/99 SRXs have slightly milder porting + heads and their own unique CDIs
-Vipers Cylinder ports are more aggressive then the SRXs but they have a different cylinder head gasket + different exhaust manifold flange then the SRXs
-Viper CDIs have far more timing then the SRXs , considered by most to be too much for any trail SRX and would only be useable on a 2001 or 2002 SRX wiring harness
The above info is to the best of my knowledge and hands on experience.
Hope this Info helps.

all the same ..................

No I don't know...I don't have any info on the 2000 SRX CDI.

how about changing the wiring harness to one frome a 01 or 02 to be able to use the viper cdi? are all connectors the same, how much of a pain would it be? Thanks

also wonder if the 01 and 02 srx wiring and viper wiring is the same? would make it easy for me since i am about to change my cowling to the style with seperate dials for the hand and thumb warmers, my 2000 is still single dial for both.

The 2001 SRX wiring harness is slightly different from the 2002 as the 2002 has DCS.
I would not recommend using a Viper CDI on a trail SRX or for anything other then short runs as the timing is approx 8-9 degrees further advanced at 8500rpm!!! this could + probably would end up in destructive engine failure!
-the 2000,2001,2002 and the Vipers all share the same stator
-if you want to update the 2000 SRX wiring harness I would suggest you use the 2001 SRX wiring harness but I don't see any advantage over sticking with the 2000 wiring harness and picking up a race/high RPM CDI for the 2000
-the 2005 Viper CDI with DCS plugs into my 2002 SRX[DCS] wiring harness but will not spark...some of the wires have to be rerouted, but I have not pursued this as I use the sled for trail riding.

thanks guys saved alot of headache, i love this site, ive always had to learn the hard way by trial and error before, wasted alot of time and money but sometimes works out.
