Gravity? What gravity?

Don't blame obama man. You realize those planes are priced to the gov. for just over $350 BILLION PER PLANE. And except for the stealth benefits(which can be negated by electronic jammers like the E-3), They have few benefits over our current arsenal of F-15's, 16's, and 18's.
Also, ever had your computer lag? The new F-22's are all "fly by wire", where all the aircraft's movements are computer controlled from input by the pilot. They have lost at least one plane during testing due to the computer lagging and causing it to crash.
I am not a big fan of the 22, never have been. I would rather see our guys flying in tried and trued 15's.

hey, you better get your numbers straight, 350+BILLION, YEAH RIGHT!

what ive found is anywhere from $143million per plane to $339 million per plane depending on source, im sure its closer to $339mil.

does the F15 have thrust vectoring? no
does the F15 have stealth? no
the F22 has better radar and avionics.
The F-22 also has the most advanced NCTR system put into a fighter aircraft.

sorry. million is correct. typo.

Production 15's don't have thrust vectoring, true. But it has been tested with thrust vectoring and forward canards with outstanding results. They didn't proceed with the idea because they thought the production costs would be to high. lol. lot less than the 22 though.
stealth? that is a solid advantage.
the utility of the radar and avionics is limited by the abilities of the weapons. I would put money on the "outdated" f-14, negating stealth, in a standoff. The 14 can reach out and touch em out past 100 miles when specially equipped. The internal bays of the 22 cannot carry the aim54
not saying its bad, just not saying its worth it
