95 vmax le blubbering at around 35mph

What do I need to do to get better gas milage and fix the blubbering i get from my sled at around 35 mph. I have another identical sled that gets about twice as good of fuel economy and doesnt blubber. Do I need to clean the carbs and install new needle valves and jets or just clean the carbs. Can anyone give me advice on what to by and where to get it if I need needles or jets. Thanks
 
clean the carbs. at the bottom of the throat on the airbox side, there are lil air nozzles. they get plugged with snow and make em run rich as hell. first hand experience here
 
Raise the needle clip on both carbs. I forgot exactly what position I raised mine to, I think to the 1.5 slot, but I'd have to check my notes.. But, you can raise it a 1/2 clip position at a time until you find your sweet spot. I've been seeing 12-14mpg average on my 600 Vmax for the last 4 years since I've made the adjustments and no more 35mph bog.

Going down two jet sizes with and moving the clips like this are the way to go. It will run like a scalded dog!
 
Thanks for the advice. You wouldn't possible have any pictures to show me how or what the clip adjustment is. Or will this make sense to me when i dig into it. Also how do I know what size jets I have in order to know how to drop two sizes. Thanks
