If done properly, there is no reason why reliability would be an issue. The only thing that would become an issue is your fuel mileage. Any sled that makes 220+hp is not going to be good on fuel. In the end, building a 1000 is not going to be cheap. Pipes, carbs, reeds, intakes, and acutally finishing the cylinders will run you well over $7500.
X 2 on what Valin said, Unless you have hook ups or great deals on used parts. get a 4 stroke then a turbo, close to the same cost and more HP.
what pipes carbs etc. would i run and what do you mean when the cylinders are finished?

Look at the title of your thread "SEMI MACHINED KITS" , meaning theres still lots of work still to be done before you have a finished product.
Reading some of your past threads, Ive kinda picked up on your lack of knowledge of these machines, if I were you Id just leave your sled alone and ride it while it still runs. But its your toy, your money, your time......Im just trying to look out for you.

There is currently a 1000cc price power 98 srx in the yamaha classified section on the second page for 3500 obo if this helps! I asked the wife if I was allowed to buy it and she said, if I wanted a divorce to go ahead and buy it! I figure that child support on three kids would totally break me! Not to mention alamony too... I think It is cheaper to keep her!! LOL I can always trick her into buying a new 4 stroke. All I have to do is blow up the srx!

A semi machined kit basically has no porting done to it, and no sleeves in it. You are basically getting rough castings, with rough ports cut. The cylinders needs to be sleeved to your desired size, ported, o-rings cut into them, heads cut and machined, cases ported to match the cylinders. Then you need to have custom pipes built for the SRX chassis, which will run you probably $1200 US, and you need to buy V-Force reeds, billet intake manifolds, carburetors, and filters. It's alot of work.
