I have an old 1977-81 model enticer 250 that I'm trying to determine the exact model year.
On the chassis, the the serial # is something like 8G5 041671. I think it is a 1979, but here's the strange part.
The cab is all white with red decals. Nowhere have I seen another et250 with a white cab. Only et300's with white cabs. Did they ever make an et250 with a white cab, or is this a custom cab?

Contacting Yamaha
I had the same issue with a few 79 - 80 vintage machines, Enticer, Exciter and Excel.
The first time I phoned Yamaha the gal I spoke with was unable to go back that far and identify the year of mfg. from the tunnel and engine numbers.
Then in response to the phone call I received a survey card in the mail asking how the phone inquiry went. I mailed back the card stating I did not receive the information I needed and listed the machines and tunnel numbers and my phone number.
Then in response to mailing in the card, I received a phone call from the same gal and she had all the information I needed. I had given up as I was previously told their records did not go back that far. Very happy that they followed up and took care of the inquiry.

Customer Relations at Yamaha
I believe it was customer relations at: 1-800-962-7926 and somewhere in the recording it asked if you would like to complete a survey after talking with a representative. I think the gal I spoke with was someone named Megan.

Is there a list somewhere that people can lookup their serial numbers to find out what model year they were?
