has any body found a way to get the digital speedos anywhere close to being accurate. Iv'e checked mine with a good radar and it's about 9 miles an hr off at top end :?:

you can install a 10tooth drive sprocket, you will be closer to the mph that the speedo says,,,but you will have to change gear ratio to match the 10 tooth sprocket,to the original 9 tooth...hope this will help (with the 10 tooth sprocket, there less tunnel clearence,,,so no stud can be install)

i found that by cutting onte tooth off of the speedo gear brings the speedo a lot more in line with your actual speed did this on a few rx 1,s and it worked well. just use a dremel tool it was fast and easy :D

We have cut two teeth (one adjacent form each other) of a RX-1 speedo gear and tested it against the speedo on a Dyno Jet track dyno and found it to be with in 1 mph, but have not tested it against a radar or GPS.

yes i to was a little amazed to see over 140 mph so i cut one tooth of the speedo to bring things a little closer to realty and that it did two teeth would be even closer but i changed to 10 tooth drivers we will see this year how it will be

Maybe I just haven't had enough coffee but cutting a tooth off a gear just seems nasty, like it might work for a while but pretty soon all the teeth will be gone.

Can somebody post a picture or maybe 'splain how this works? I took the short bus to school when I was a kid so I need a little more help.

speedo

the speedo gear is just for the pick up to count how many times the axl turns it is not a cable drive unit just one or two teeth missing means that there are less teeth for the pick up to count thats all . :D
