I have the chance to purchase a TEAM secondary clutch off a reputable guy I purchased a few parts from. He said it was a $600 clutch. He also says it revs to 5200 rpms. Is this worth it in this sled and what are the pros and cons?? thanks!
$600.00 is way too high for a Team!
I run Teams on most of my sleds...they are great for trail use + deep snow.
For drag racing + max top speed stick with the Yamaha secondaries! I took the Secondary off our 700SX Improver[53/47-green] and stuck it on my SRX and picked up 3mph top speed on GPS with out any adjustment!!![yet I still use the Team on my Trail SRX... thats how good they are on the trail!]
The max RPM should be the same as stock...8300-8500 RPM on an SRX.
Team clutches are very High quality products but its the old "Rob Peter to Pay Paul"...you have to give to get.
I have ordered their newest clutch for my SRX, apparently better top speed...thats how much I like them!

Well I am able to get this clutch for $150 bucks and its like new. He said with this clutch it wheelies every time you punch it. Will this clutch decrease mpg? Thanks for any input!

In my experiance, it will not hurt your mpg...it may actually help as it loves to upshift for a given throttle setting. The Team clutch is a very high quality item but as anything else it has its strenghts + weeknesses. It depends what your priorities are.
I like them but I have riding buddies that don't.

Im not sure. For $150 bucks, I don't think its worth passing up. Are they hard to install? How much more nutsy will the sled feel when this clutch is installed? A different sled ?? thanks sideshowbob for the quick responses!

People are probably blowing these older Teams out cheap because they have a new version out this year[2009/2010] and you require new helixes for tuning the new versions. As I have stated they are a great product + they work very well but they are not going to be a "Life Changing Experience" LOL!
On the SRX/SXs they just bolt on but when they were fully shifted out the helix surface would contact the lip on the bulkhead so I took my dremil and ground some relief on the top of the bulkhead lip.
Also you will need a special tool to change the spring...once you start into these secondaries you end up commited...as I said in a previous post I like + use the Teams, but that Yamaha secondary works very well with proper tuning and an assortment of Helixes.

Do you know what helix & secondary spring it has?
Do you know what combination your sled needs?
Do you know your sleds proper rpms?
Do you know how to tune the primary/secondary to achieve this?
Do you know if your sled hits 5200 rpm a kitty cat will destroy you in a drag race?
If you answered yes to all these questions then buy it. It is a long long long long shot from being a bolt on & go!

Team secondaries are good for backshift and powder riding but in a drag race there slower and have less top speed no matter how you tune them.I have had a lot of expierence with these.
I agree with what Turk said above.

I had a team on my SRX and sold it, hated the thing. Trail riding it was ok but the top end loss sucked, and I could hear the thing whirling around.
That said I dont think they are worth the money.
