Hello all! Being new to this sport, well if you don't count my old 1970 something Ski-Doo, I have some questions about the "New to Me" 2003 SX Viper I just bought.
1 - The sled doesn't have electric start or reverse.
Should I consider either one? Will it effect the performance (besides the weight of the extra parts)?
2 - Hood hinge. Is it just mine, and the other 3 that I looked at, or do all of the front grills at the hinge get messed up? What's the fix? Replace?
That's it for now. Thanks in advance!
Dave

adding electric start or reverse will just add weight to the sled. i don't think it hurts performance to have ither. it is nice to have reverse, but u really don't need it. i've run for years without it and have no problems. also my old sled had a messed up hood hinge, u can replace them wire and springs.
ur gona love the viper, its a great sled.

Thanks for the reply!
The hood opens fine, but the grill is all bent up. Any other ideas?
Thanks,
Dave

Don't get electric start and reverse, leave those for the ladies....!! The grill on my hood was fine, until I hit the back of a mach z when he suddenly stopped and it dented the grill and took a chip out of my hood. After this the grill didn't move freely anymore, and it was dented a bit. I have replaced the hood now so it looks nice, and the grill on the new hood was perfect.......Maybe the previous owner hit something lightly on the front and messed up the grill....?
