Has anyone out there gotten their bearings for their chaincases and jackshaft bearings from other sources other than the dealers? It looks really expensive to try to replace all of them using the yammie bearings. I am kinda skeptical about it since the bearing under the speedo housing has a collar attached to it. Any advice would be of great help. Thanks in advance...

For sure i bought all of mine from a bearing and transmission shop for 1\4 of Yamaha's price, just take them the bearings and they will match them

I replaced the chaincase/jackshaft bearings, and I bought NTN bearings, for pretty cheap, except for the bearing with the set screws, I couldn't find an aftermarket for that one, so i bought a Yamaha bearing and it was expensive. Can't remember if it was 40 something dollars or 60-70 something dollars, way to much for a bearing IMO. I had to buy it because thats all that was around and it was the middle of the winter, when we had our best snow, sled was out for a week as it was, so thats about 500 kms of riding gone

From a search of old posts:
Yamaha Part#93306-20589.Axle bearing is NSK UB205 Japan or Fafnir #YAE25RR
Jackshaft is NSK AS205. Some of the posts have comments that the NSK's are hard to find and one post suggests that cbperformance carries them.

I just looked on the Yellow pages for a bearing dealer near me (Motion Industries, if I recall correctly). I called and gave them the numbers on the bearings and they had them, I drove over and got them. Except the Jackshaft bearing they had to order that one, but had it in a couple days. And like it's been said a 1/4 of what a Yamaha can sell them to you.

Hello, I dont know where you are at in Northern Il. but if you are close to Rockford Motion Ind. 815 874-9461 has all the bearings. The speedo bearing is around $14 let me know I can mail them to you.

I actually did get ahold of motion industires. I live in the DeKalb/Rochelle area. The sales rep actually knows my family and is dropping off the bearing tomorrow since he lives in the immediate area. The other bearings I got from Napa.
