Ive got a 95 vmax that is hard to steer even on the dollies. I checked the alignment, it was good. I disconnected the steering rod that connects the base of the handlebar steering shaft to the steering plate that connects to the ski rods.(if that makes sense). The handle bars move free, but the skis don't move back and forth freely. Any ideas?

Lube is good, make sure that your radius rods are not rubbing on the skidplate, when you lift up the front end your shocks will xtend far and push your rods to far down, then when you lower it it will steer fine, check it out????
This almost feels like it has a "hitch" in it. I think I notice it the most halfway between straight and turned in either direction. Like it's binding halfway through.
This is while it is sitting on the ground, or on the dollies when the suspension is relaxed. I don't see anything rubbing. When I got this sled 2 years ago, the bracket under the front tie bar had been pushed up into the rod, but I bent it back down.

Check the steering "gate" part that the steering post and radius rods attach to. It has a large bearing in it that can fail or become pretty dirty and rusted up. I have had one wear out as well. If you have a "hitch" in it I would likely think that it or the heim joints on the radius rods are wore out.
