I am trying to set someone straight here. Can someone let me know the top speed the 2001 srx hit to be the fastest stock sled?

i believe it wasn't the FASTEST stock sled in '01, but it was the QUICKEST in 1/4 mile.

a may be missing something but ive never seen anything but the old v-max 4 sleds outrun an srx on top end, not sure the exact number though.

-I had just picked up my 1996 VMAX4 800 ,700 km [420miles] absolutely bone stock in all aspects
-My friend had a new 1998 SRX 700 with about 500 km [300 miles] absolutely out of the crate stock
We ran on the lake, groomed trail 2000ft run -15c, light winds on a "Speed Check" radar mounted on a pole.[There were a lot of sleds there]
-VMAX4 800 112mph
-SRX 700 112mph
The only other known STOCK sled that broke 100mph that day was a 1998 TCat 1000 + it only ran 102mph
There were no XCR 800 tripples there that day...from my experience they would lhave likely posted a decent top end# as well.

top speed at quarter mile was 100.66 mph out of the box, 100.22 dealer prep. for the SRX. The XC 800 got 103.44 dealer prep and the ZRT 800 got 102.27 dealer prep. I keep all my old magazines.
If I remember correctly, the SRX held the quickest time for a few years after that, but I'm not sure.

Not the fastest, but the quickest. What makes this significant, is that the SRX gave up 100cc and made the least HP of them all.

NOW, MY SLED, THATS RIGHT I BOUGHT THIS SLED RIGHT FROM BIG MOOSE YAMAHA SET THE ALL TIME MPH RECORD STILL TO THIS DAY FOR ANY YAMAHA TESTED AT THE SHOOTOUT. ITS MY 1995 VMAX 4 800 THAT RAN 105.16 OUT OF THE BOX. NO SRX, APPEX, VIPER, NYTRO, RX-1, SXr etc has toped this MPH. 3:16 (yammie tony)

Thanks Triple X thats exactly what I needed.
ttt..."WORD"....this post deserves some new posts its quite amazing the new sleds have not been quicker or faster, with that said even tho the sleds were stock was the suspensions adjusted for the shootout? ie drag race. I had a 94 vmax4 and the paper from yamaha showed 125hp and I had a 99 SRX i think 135 hp the sleds were fast compared to 600 class sleds at the time.

my 1995 vmax 4 800 dynoed for the shootout and i have dyno certificate made 151.6 at 8350. 3:16 (yammie tony)
