Viper chain gets loose

The last 2 trips I went on I have had to tighten the chain tensioner like 2 turns. I have around 7000 mi on it and wondering if the chain is getting close to breaking that its stretching out that much lately. I also put new bearing in it, unless there breaking in? Its not backing its self off either cause the jam nuts tight. Should I be replacing the chain with a new one, before it breaks on me and causes more damage? Thanks.

I would say yes. To check a chain you lay it flat on a hard surface and work a few links back and forth along the length of the chain. A worn chain will move (shorter and longer). You don't want them breaking that is for sure.

Id just replace it, ive broken 2 chains on my srx in 12k miles and its not pretty. A chain is cheaper than a whole case ask me how i know lol

Yea, I will replace it then. There not really that cheap at $140 to $150.
