Hey just picked up a 04 warrior for 2600 because the guy was mad that the sled was blowing up belts after a 100 miles per belt. I figure for the price i would try to fix it. Does anyone know what could cause you to blow belts so bad? Also is there anything i should look for on this sled that has problems. Thanks for the time.

Oh hey i just took the belt off and on both sheaves there are some pretty good grooves. Could this be causing the belts to go so fast? Also was there a kit yamaha came out with for the 4 strokes because the cluthes were making some bad rattling noises? thanks again.

yamaha issued a kit i believe, that consisted of o-rings and or washers, to quiet down the primary clutch. sounds like the clutches are way out of alignment. that would cause belts to go south very quick. check alignment out. are you using OEM belts too? don't run any belt but the OEM ones.

Clutch alignment problem normally. Grooves could be from blowing all the belts. Broken motor mount is a high percentage cause in every sled I've seen doing this.

hey thanks for the replies. the belts it has blown are all oem belts. I think its out of alignment. Can i use a srx clutch alignment tool on a warrior?

I believe so, the tool makers still only have the one model to my knowledge.

Make sure you check both clutches for broken springs etc.

Dad's 06 Vector GT went 9600 KM before it lunched the origional belt.....

the centre to centre tool is the same for the 2 and 4 strokes. offset is diferent though.

i can confirm what crewcheif47 says about his dad's. i was there and helped replace that belt. i have also seen a 03 rx1 with 11,000km on it before it blew the belt.

Hey guys just found out that the sled has one of Hauck's clutch kits in it. Have to wait till monday to see if the clutch is out of alignment . Could that clutch kit be so hard on belts? The old owner said he had it wide open for a while then a belt blew and eversince then the belts have been going quickly.

I'm telling you, you need to look for a broken motor mount. Mount breaks, motor torques over pulling primary out of alignment with secondary, sled starts eating belts like mad.
