On my 99 700 srx im runnig 8 tooth drivers this year, my gearing is 22/37 and in the primary i have a g-w-g spring, I am planing on running a set of 8bu-00 weights with 4.5 in the tip and the secondary I have a red spring and have a 51/43 helix picked up. I was looking for an agressive trail but there is some long ponds were I am to and I am afarid that with this setup i am going to losse alot of top end speed. I have a 1.375" track with lots of wheels and im at sea level.

Also if i go with this set up i know that the 8bu-00 dont have a good backshift so if i use a good bit of tension in the secondary would this help with the backshifting.

Thanks
Jeff

would it be better fo me to go back to a 9 tooth drivers with loaded 8dn-20s because this is not a sled that i drag all the time so i am wondering if the 8 tooths are too much. if i went back to the 9 tooth and ran the 51/43 helix would the 8bu-10 be better than loaded 8dn-20s and if so what rivits would the 8bu-10s run?

Thanks
Jeff

need to spin more than 8100 rpm on a srx to make power. on that '99 you should be @ 8300.

Im thinking about going back with the 9 tooth drivers because I haven't read many good things about them and I dont want ratching. From what I have reasearched, I should be able to run the cobra track with no clearence issues ( i have the stud protectors removed). I will run 8dn-20s loaded it posibly 1 g washer on the bootom hole with the 51/43 helix. This should hoply take care of my over reving problem that I was getting last year. I was runnig stock seconday with loaded 8dn-10 and I was hitting 9100 rpm. Im planing on ording the 8dn-20s this evening.

Thanks
Jeff
