i had this happend to me the belt is to tight your seconday might be closed too much because the bolts that open it up for adjustment are worn and the plate that they sit on. opend the seconday up and you can just flip the plate and it might be enough to open the seconday enough to stop the squelling if thats not enoght just get some new bolts from yamaha or get some the proper lenght.

I used to have this problem with replacement belts before learning that a new belt off the rack needs to be scrubbed with soap and water before using.

x2 on replacing the bolts on the back of the secondary or remove a washer to see if it helps and check your belt deflection.
