Hey Guys...

Okay...I saw a few threads closely related to my issue..but they were posted in 2007...so unsure if the guy will even check his thread or PM's...
Okay..simple as this..the machine starts awesome in full or half choke...once it warms up..it dies out...can't even give it gas to get over dying out...
However...it will come back to life once I flip the choke half way...
Yes..Carbs have been cleaned...New Gas..and New plugs...No I haven't checked Compression...and yes..the carbs were gunky when I cleaned them...
however..the machine was acting the same way when they were dirty.
I was thinking of getting a fuel pump and/or new fuel filter...but thought I'd ask first...Some post said to look at my jetting(to rich)...
The guy I purchase this from said it was running awesome a few years back..but it sat awhile and when he tried to get it goin..the above symptoms occured...

Whew...sorry for being long winded...

Sounds like you may still have debri in your carbs..and/or, dirty float seats/needles..
do you have clear fuel lines from the fuel pump to carb connections? if not, mayne throw some on, and watch to see if they stay full of fuel??

Make sure the pilots are absolutely clear. I thought I had my carbs clean and it was doing pretty much the same thing. I don't know peoples oppinion on running an oblect through a jet bore, but i have an accupunctureist's needle i use, its super thin and has a flat side to it so when i twist it, it kinda cuts the gunk out, but its not hard enough to hurt the bore.

Make sure that you have the little rubber plug thingies in the right spots. Cause all sorts of weird stuff to happen if they are not right. Can't remember where they go though. Been years since I had a set of phazer carbs apart.

Thanks guys...I'm torn as to which comes first...Motor Mounts...or get it running properly...but Yeah..I think I'll pull the carbs back out and recheck them...there was
alot of gunk in the hole...had a small pipe cleaning wire in it and it wouldn't even go down..after 2 days of constant carb/seafoam in the jet...some goo finally broke free and aloud the wire to go through...
Generally I'm fine with cleaning the carbs..thought maybe somthing else was off base...as for the manual...I think its a Yamaha versoin..bought it online so unsure..
Thanks again..I'll keep ya'll posted on my progress...

I am having the same issue! Mine seems like I am losing spark on the non-pto side and it starts to run on 1 cylinder and then dies out or if I give it gas, it dies out on me. Cleaned carbs, new coil, cleaned flywheel, tried different cdi boxes...Did all this before the dieing out issue. I had no spark so I did all the above. I had a very dirty flywheel and it was limiting the stator from making spark, now it is doing the dieing out thing.....have you found anything?

Also, what holes do the black rubber thingies go in in the carbs? I have them in the outer holes when you look at the 3 holes.

if you look down the holes, there is one that goes nowhere. leave that one blank, plug the others.

Whew okay...Sorry so late with a reply...but I got the bugger to run..and idle...but
now more to the soap opera...I'll post another thread and see on more answers...
Needless to say..that my carbs are cleaned awesome now...unfortunetly when i restarted it...it still wouldn't idle...after tweeking the idle screw..BINGO!!!...
i took it up North this past Newyears Weekend...and now I've got the deadly bog...unsure if Carb related..or Clutch...hell..now I'm wondering if its the fuel pump... basically it seems like the machine is running rich...Smokes like crazy..Arghhh...
Thanks to all for your input...
