Viper Head Light Covers

Thanks for the FYI on the Michigan head light cover deal. I was unaware of it. I will have to try and read up on it before I decide to spend some coin. GB

I have used my blue ones during the daytime and will continue to use them. I think that you may run into trouble if you are running red ones anytime, or running any color headlight cover at night.

The bluse got me pulled over , i didnt get a ticket but the co. sheriff said they would be giving tickets next year , well its next year , i paint mine black , they look good , but not a dahm ray of light goes through them ... there black outs , will be fine in the day , but they will need to come off at night ...

B2SO im curious to know why you can have black but not blue? I think blue would be better then one at all. Just curious did they tell you this?

They say the same thing every year. You can choose to listen to them this year if it makes you feel better, or if you truely feel that headlight covers are dangerous.

you guys that havent been pulled over yet or never been bothered will be bothered this year as the law was just past this past spring summer. i am not sure of daylight hours riding but i'll bet if the sled is not 25 years old or older and is supposed to have a visable light you WILL have problems with the law. there is a law enforcment person on the site i am sure they can get the full low down and give a post about it. ski

i have seen plenty of law enforcement in michigan, but they are always much more reasonable than the po po on my home turf of wisconsin, they are crazy

we have county sheriffs and state police that patrol and run radar now! (mostly in lewis county, and last year the state troopers were on RX-1's running radar!)

there is a law , red and blue head lights are reserved for law enforcement only ...i will try and find it today ...

im thinking about gettin the blue light cover for my srx. will i need to take it off at night to see properly? is it easy to take off? and where can i find out if its legal or illegal in quebec to have these? thanks

Yes you definately need to take them off to be able to see clearly at night. They come off very easily, it is velcro adhesive tabs that hold them on the headlight, so the velcro allows you to remove and put on the headlight cover all the time. Gotta talk to your local law enforcement or snowmobile club and they will probably know if they are illegal or not.
