Left town at about 2:30 with sleds in tow. All together there were 10 sleds. 5 800 REV X's, 3 RX-1's,1 F6 and 900 Mountain cat. We nade real good time and arrived in Jonquiere about 930. We stayed at the Richelieu. $87 a night for three of us and the bar.club there has the best scenery I have seen. Got overserved at the and went to bed around 330. It was my birthday after all. Dont order B-52's. They are about the size of three american shots and $11 a piece.

Friday morning we made the drive to Le Valinouet and it was raining like a cow pissing on a flat rock. When we turned to head up the road to the mountain the temp was 38 and light rain. It rained most of the way up the road. At 5 clicks out it turned to snow. We unloaded and struck of towards Bras Louis and someone had driven a truck about 5 miles up and it sucked. 34 degrees and light snow. Once we entered the park the snow got deeper and the riding was not bad, except for my screaming headache and my breakfast still in my throat. The park has not been groomed yet and there are rocks everywhere so be careful. We headed to the Onotchaway Relais for the worst burger I have ever had in my life and am now starting to feel better. FYI- the road into the Onotchaway Relais is plowed and all dirt. I would avoid that area, back at the truck at 530 after three REVS raqn out of gas with 172 miles on the odometer, never saw another sled all frakin day. FYI!!!!!!Valinouet is full to capacity, I would strongly recomend calling for a reservation unless you would like to drive back to Jonquiere to sleep. We headed back to town and had a great meal and everyone passes out.

Day 2.

We head back to Valinouet and arrive about 8 am. There is barely a place to park our truck. Trails are hammered and the FCMQ are out in full force checking for passes. We all had ours but one guy and he purchases a season pass trailside. Jalobert groomed Friday night so we head towards the relais for a mid morning burger and beer before the rush. My advice is to ride the gold trails around Jalobert as they have the most snow and the least traffic, we were the first sled on groomed trail for probably 60 miles thru the cut. There are a ton of loops you can make around the relais. I would do it. Back to the relais for fuel with 90 miles on at 1 and we decide to head back to the truck. All said and done we arrive at the trailers at 330 and head to St. George for the night. 132 miles on the Odometer for the day. Back in ST George at 845 for some dinner and a few beers. Our crew decided to head to Bar 55 and the guy I was trailering with decides he wants to make the final 2.5 hour ride back Saddee night. Back in my own bed at 1 am sunday. Best birthday weekend I can remember!

A couple of notes:

Those who bought a new Yami- the rear skid is gonna put a smile on your face- and the handling is much, much improved. We had an 03,04 and 05 RX-1 with us and there was no comparison tween the 05 and the other 2.

The new 800 Powertek by Doo gets obscene gas mileage. If I could find one right now I might be divorced. And the all black X is boss.

Be careful weekend riding up there. It is far busier and more dangerous than Jackman on a school vacation weekend.

302 miles the weekend of my birthday- Priceless.
