Does anyone know what is the best caliper to use and brake handle/reservoir to use to adapt hydraulic brakes to an old yammy? I know that this will require a little fabbing and I'm okay with that, but surely I can't the be the first one to do this. I've searched the thread without any luck, any ideas? G.

Gorkon, go over to the vmax4 website. There are a few guys on that site who have adapted Arctic Cat hydrualic brake systems to the Vmax-4 sleds. They had to machine some parts to adapt the caliper but they got it to work fine. I put a hydraulic brake kit from bender on my Vmax-4. This same kit worked on a Phazer and Exciter sleds.

Thank-you sir
use polaris instead
how old yamaha you talkin. hopefully jackshaft style....polaris hydraulic brake assy. works best on yamaha. i got this one off ebay for 10 bucks. i had to plug the mounting holes with some aluminum "dowls" i made on my lathe, then redrilled the correct pattern. look in my avatar you can see the master cylinder....

What year and model of Polaris? What brake handle and reservoir? I plan on doing some fabbing to adapt this to my SS and another one for my 77 GS 340. I have GP 292 discs for both and fab whatever I need to mount the caliper. Thanks. G.
