:dunno: SOLD OUT!? Spoke with Boss rep today. Have to wait until next year!
Has anyone had a "positive" experience with the Excell seat riser? Is there another close option to the Boss seat? Possible a factory seat (Nytro)?

I can't take another season stock. #$%&*

I have the "Excell" seat riser with a stock seat. It is night and day better than the stock seat alone. I would like to add another inch or two, but I dont want to cough up the coin for a Boss seat. I ride standing up alot and it is much easier to go from standing to sitting and vice-versa. I think that it is well worth the money.

I have heard of an apholsterer called "Scotty" I believe. He has posted on the board a few times. I am sure he can build a seat for you, I would probably be cheaper and just as good as a Boss. Al

This is amazing. How in this economy a business could be so busy that they are turning customers away. I am convinced I'm in the wrong business.

Mac...I sat there shaking my head after seeing they were sold out as well...just don't get it.

Thanks for the input, I may just give Excell a chance.

Either they reduced production or sold a crap load of seats before the season even began.

I emailed Boss not more than two weeks ago and they still had seats...figures, I just didn't have the cash at the time. Wish they would have gave me a heads up that supplies were getting low, now's the time to get one, etc...

Pay close attention to the classifieds here and I mean CLOSE ATTENTION cause when they hit they go almost instantly.

i was talking to a lady right from BOSS today and basically begged her to make me a seat and i asked why they were done for the season and they said that they are focusing on the other products. doesnt seem like good business sense to me cus they could easily sell the seats if they made more but i was told not till next snowmobile season which means next fall. kinda pissed but cant do much about it eh

I will say I had to deal with BOSS for some pieces for a APEX seat and wasnt impressed with there service, very disorganized and not very informative on there own products. But I will admit there seats are very comfortable.

I think because of the economy, guys are investing in their current sleds instead of buying new ones. That could explain why Boss has no seats left. They've also lowered their price substantially which probably helped. I spoke to a Boss dealer in Sudbury in September and he could sell them for $400 CDN. He also said that they don't have quite so many models available anymore.

I took a chance on getting mine done by a local upholstery shop. I wanted a boss but at the time I didn't know the price had come down. I haven't tried it yet but I think it will work out. Plus this way I keep the rear storage and my saddle bags don't have to be modified. Take a chance on getting it done locally. Mine can be returned to stock easily because the original seat wasn't affected. The riser was installed on top.

Great quality seats -- they are second to none. But that is the only saving grace to that company. Their customer service sucks. I mean it when I say that.

boss high rise flattop is the best mod that can be done if you do any amount of aggressive trail riding, i could not go back to a stock seat. i would much rather get rid of my pipes or longer track than the seat.

apparently Boss only made 50 of the Yamaha seats. I ordered a boss seat for a edge chassis polaris. I removed some foam from underneath and it fits good, not as good a yamaha seat, but good.

Well, now I'm kinda forced to go with an Excell Riser. I have the shocks over at Pioneer, new windshield on the way, new 2" riser..etc... just bummin' a bit. I really wanted the boss.

I also feel they dropped the ball this year as well. With so many hanging on to their current sleds, now's the time for the mods to sell (if you can keep them on the shelf).

May I Know Why Every People Wanna Switch Seat ??
most people find the SRX seat too low. It's hard to go from sitting to standing. Changing the seat gives you an extra 2 or 3 inches, which makes it more like the newer sleds. It goes well with the handlebar riser.

Thats crazy- they could sell so many seats! Guys dont want to sit on their sleds like a go kart-they wanna ride!
