hey i need some help on how to remove this bar, its bent on my sled and i need to install a new one, what all needs to be takin off to replace this ? any help is great ! in the yamaha manual its called ( bumper, front 2) its the bar ur hood latches bolt onto , its black!

help is right!. figure on a motor removal to get at all the fasteners on that one. couldnt have picked a better part to change to get to know your sled a little better. thats one of the more structurley integral parts under the hood. start by removing the pipes, and then you will see. its pretty straightforward, yet time consuming. then you need to factor in the fliud replacement and clutch alignment.

if your talking about this

i think you could get it by removing the pipes and not the motor, wont be easy but i think it can be done, remove the hood, then remove the 4 bolts here 2 on each side

then there are these two bolts here and two on the other side same spot

LMFAO I had to do the exact same thing last year and no you don't have to pull the motor but the pipes have to come off and if I remember correctly you do have to take the mounts out one at a time to gain access to a couple of hidden bolts in or around the bulkhead...

would that bar being bent n kinked cause the front end to look like its sitting on an angle ?

Your front bumper is mounted to this, as well as your hood and top front of the belly pan. I suppose it could make it look off kilter. However, I would check all of the arms and rods for the front supension, as well as the bulkhead itself. Whatever damaged this hoop, may have damaged something else.

I've done them without motor removal, it isn't that bad. Good advice above.

Yeah deffinantly have a look around. If it was caused by a front end impact (most likely) and it was hard enough to bend this bar it might have also tried too bend and pull the frame inward towards the motor if you know what I mean.

yes

Yes it will look all messed up...lol I crashed mine into the back of my garage couple weeks ago..No snow ski's in the air...bang...lol I just bent mine back with a piece of 4X4wood and a mall...take your time..took me about an hr or 2 hrs..but all good now..

It never damaged anything but that bar...got lucky...but wow did it look bad at the time...Check everything else first...then just get a couple beers and friends and take your time hammering it what ever way it should go you'll be opening and closing the hood quite a bit to see your progress...May take awhile but it's free I pulled my pipes off and bumper when I did it...

Tip:
Do not adjust the hood ....just bang the bar back to what it was like before the smash...and relax and take your time...
