HOw to remove and replace rivet ????

what'S the trick to remove and replace rivet in the weigth??

can i do it with simple tool?

Drill them out with a larger drill bit than the hole then use a punch and a hammer to knock them out just make sure you do not drill into the weight!

as simple as kirk has explained.Use a drill press is better ,I made a jig for mine so I can mount the weight ..either side..drill with press and then I take a right diameter punch and nail it and it falls right out thru the opening in my jig.

IF you got a steady hand like i do grind them flush with the weight then punch em out...

drill them with the same diam colbalt bit as rivet or one dash smaller then pop the manufactured head off with a pin punch same size as drill and punch them out if you have to drill the shop head. or grind off the head. I prefer to drill.

Then use bolts with jam nuts to tune & run,,, drilling those things out bits...........

What bolts and nuts do you use ? Where can I get some? I am sick of drilling and ordering rivets

I have found that the metric 6mm pan head bolts and nut combination fit well n work by my scale shows them to be 7 gm.s for this combo. The biggest Yamaha rivet is 4.5 grams I believe.

Well I was introduced to them when ordering rivets for clutch weights through Rusty at Hauck,, and he sent me a set,,,,, bolts & nuts that was dead on at 4.5g ....ever since have supplied my self through any nicely supplied hardware store..... need those jam nuts though.. Half a drop of removable loctite and your set... can use washers to add weight or grind on bolt,, Take gram scale with you, come up with what you need........

Living in Labrador we do not have nicely supplied hardware stores lol But thanks I will check it out with home hardware or rona yay we have rona!!!
