i just purchasd a 2000 SRX...wanted one for a long time, finally got it. Gonna have a few questions as I'm checking it outand hope you guys can help... first of all, on the PTO side of the engine on the coolant line to the head, whats the on/off switch for and should it be in the OFF position?? (mine is)

also, mine has an aftermarket can..guy i bought it off of didn't tell me, trying to figure out what make it is, can't find any ID on it, all i can say is its a round cylindrical can?? any ideas..i know trhats pretty vague..

people racing usually will turn the valve off to run cooler, trail riders usually will leave it turned on. Benders trail can is round, not sure about others, race cans usually are the tripple trumpet style.

thanks, any jetting changes needed for that can?? i haven't opened the carbs yet, don't know what's in there yet??

No, the can will not effect your jetting.

Unless it's cold as hell out or your busten pow keep them OFF,id ditch the can and put the stocker back on,you could ...be loosing power from that fart can.

pull chain case cover off and clean well . inspect chain, sprockets and bearings, tighten chain to specs, put cover on and put amsoil synthetic oil in and you will have a good piece of mind on your drivetrain

thanks guys, i intend on going over that sled top to bottom, think I'll live with the can though...(it kinda sounds sweet i think..not too loud either) rather spend some money on clutching than a stock can. I'm used to much slower sleds so I'm sure I'll think this thing is a rocket even if I am dropping a hp or two at the can.

installing 144 studs today!!

+2 and inspect the power valves & clean them to make sure there not broke..and set the power valves... Keep cleaning them threw out the season...

yepp, cleaned the valves today, they've NEVER been done...and did the chaincase, going through the entire sled top to bottom, gonna take me a week or so, but it'll be worth it!!
