I just started my 03 Viper for the first time this season. It wasn't going so I put some gas down the cylinders to help it out. It would run for a second then stall. When I finally got it to go, there was a big backfire bang then it ran fine. Only problem now is that the the warning and engine sign blink on every 2 to 3 seconds. And it has half a tank of gas. Since I don't have a manual, does anyone know what the code means?
Thanks,
Mike

I had a viper with a coolant temperature sensor WIRING PROBLEm.. It was in the PLUG that the wires plug into the sensor.. I replaced the plug and the problem went away...

The hard starting probably had NOTHING to do with the flashing lights...As far as the backfire,,, it's unburned fuel in the exhaust that catches a flame front from the last explosion OR unburned fuel that hits a hot spot somewheres???

Hey,
My 03' Viper is a dog to start after a seasons rest.
I have to pour gas down the jugs about half a dozen times. I did this a few many times and got a backfire from the exhaust with all of the raw fuel in there.

As for the warning lights... not too sure about that. Other guys on here know what the codes mean.

I tried rocking the primary back and fourth a few times, but it didn't seem to help. Maybe I'll do it many more times to prime that fuel pump.

the warning light codes are in the tech section under MISC. Depending on what lights are flashing and the frequency you will be able to tell what is wrong. There are a couple that are not on there. I had one this year that was flashing 6 times than had a break. It wasn't in any of the codes i could find, and it was just that my thottle cable was too tight. Guess how long I spent trying to figure that out!!
