You definately need it

Yeah, i knew it, the other 2 were set to 1 7/8 back turn from snug and this was way off, this was my first time doing the cleaning myself, all the other years the dealer did it, the screw were all stripped on the bowls nightmare to take off, glad i decided to do it myself

yes, you need the O-ring and the small washer.

One year, I didn't notice that the o-ring fell out of the carbs, and I couldn't figure out for why in the Heck it was running so rich.

the o-rings almost caught me as well. The write ups don't mention to watch for the o-rings. I didn't even know they were there untill one fell out when i was blowing cleaner in there.

i couldn't understand for years when my son's viper was running so crappy, every year i had the dealer clean the carb's, they lost the o-ring, i just happen to try this year and do it myself, following MR. Viper's carb cleaning post, glad i did. i'll have to order the part the hardware store didn't have that small of o-ring, anyone know where else to look?

Make sure the o-ring isn't still in the hole that the screw came out of. Sometimes it's on the end of the screw and sometimes it stays in the hole.

already checked, i knew something was wrong when i un-screwed it and everything came apart, the other two were fine, the dealer should have checked, but now i'll be doing the carb cleaning
