Hey.

So today i got new parts for my 98 srx, and the guy at the store had managed to send 65mm pistons, no fit.
Also a crap gasket set with paper top-end gasket and, on top of that it was for -99 model, so the oil seal on the crank was way too big, no fit.

I had dragged 3 boxes of engine parts down to a shop, just to find this out #$%&*

Also i saw that the PV that belongs to the burned down cylinder, had some material "chewed off" in the radius, so now i have filed it nice and smooth but it's a little wider then it should be i guess.. how much would this have to say? hazard for engine, or just a little HP loss?

-Ray ;)!

well they say if the coating is gone they are junk.....but i know when they big bore a motor they grind the face to match piston size ...i have a set that was ground olny thing i noticed it was a lil harder to clean were coating was gone ......but yes post a picture so we can see how bad it is ...i fix pull thrus on the top of the valves and have a few extra sets with stainless incerts if you are interested ....send me a p.m. if you need a valve

allright I'll post some pics when i get off work.

wich probably will be in the middle of the night for you guys :P

thanks!

That valve dont look that bad run it,you'll have a little carbon build up more in that area but nothing to bad.
