You pry the moveable sheave shut with the prongs, and hold the sheaves together with the u-shaped part (you need to detach the holding clamp first of course).
very handy tool to have. I have one myself, you can change weights, rollers very easily with the clutch still on the crank with that tool.

I picked it up for 10 bucks but was not sure how it worked exactly. Does anyone have a vid of how its used I tried youtube but could not find anything. I think they are like 20 bucks at royal distibuting.
