98 srx atacc install questions
Im installing a holtzman atacc kit in my 98 msrx and have a couple questions.
First, my sled has only been run at 8-10,000', jetting is 130,130,132.5 pjs-50, and I dont plan on changing clutching.
Im installing this to run at 1750' and up.
Is spec jetting ok for this altitude? 146.3, 146.3, 148.8
....and is leaving the pj a 50 a problem?
Ive ran it for 1/2 hour at a time here with the choke 1/2 open, is this ok to do? The plugs look ok, and it runs fine........
Thanks for any help!

on my 02 viper i jetted it as fat as it would go 160 that way if the atacc system would fail it would run rich. dont know if thats the right way of doing it but has seem to work for me. plugs are always cardboard color in the 4000 to 8000 feet range. i would think then you would be covered running at sea level or up in elevation. just my 2 cents
Right on, I agree with going fat, but the factory sea level settings seem pretty rich to me, thats why I ask, and I dont plan on going any lower then 1700 feet....
As far as the pilot jet goes, anyone think running that at 50 would be an issue?

dont know about the pilot jet i would have to look at the chart. any yamaha dealer has. (jetting chart) i dont remember what my pilot jet is at
hey update your location. site rules. they get a little testy about that.

On the chart for sea level it shows 146.3, 146.3, 148.8 and a pj of 42.5.
I can get the std info from a yammie dealer, but thats not what im asking.
Ive read others going 145s and 50s on flat land when cold without issues, so im looking for some good info.
Id rather sacrifice performance here in the prairie as opposed to the mtns, so thats where going as lean as possible to get the altitude spread I need, and leaving the pj/needle alone maybe the trick..maybe not........
