Swapping out the track and drivers on my exciter SX, and looking to stuff a very aggressive track while keeping 121"

Ive been seeing some 1.375 lug tracks out there now when I search, so I kinda want to get some real world opinion from people that have experimented with track in this size range. Ideally I want to run 1.5 but..

The SX will mostly be back country, ice fishing type usage, so want to make her float nice

Go with 1.5" lugs. Amazing in the powder with it, I have a 136" track and its a big difference in powder compared to other 136" track sleds with 1.25" lugs, like my buddies Renegade 800 (ZX chassis) his is faster and alot more power, but in deep powder his won't do as good as my sled. Some people say its not so good on the packed trails, but I never had a problem with sliders sticking to the track, the 1.5" is the better all around track IMO

Since you mentioned ice fishing and floating, just wanted to mention that I broke through the ice one late season while idling along the river and if not for studs, I'd have gone in. The track broke through and as it was going down I pinned the throttle and managed to ride it out. Obviously deep powder and bare ice are at odds with each other but I figured I'd share my pucker moment.

good point none the less...

I browsed camoplasts catalogue and I like the 2/3 stagger paddle in the 1.5" The track itself looks funny, but seems like it would be awesome.

I have the 1.5" ripsaw in a 121" on my SXR and it trenches in the powder. Not a bad track overall but I wouldn't buy another. On my RX1, I have a 136" cobra(1 3/8" lugs) and that is a perfect track in my mind; excellent on the trails and floats nicely thru the powder. I would definitely recommend the Cobra from camoplast.
