srx dule fuel pumps

why the dule fule pumps, is there a problem with a single high volume and plug one crank case pulse line.

IN 1980 YAMAHA WENT TO SINGLE FUEL PUMP ON THE SRX BECAUSE OF THE BUTTERFLY CARBS. THEY USED TWO ON THE LARGER mm ROUNDSLIDE CARBS. I WOULD STICK WITH WHAT THERE. 3:16 (yammie tony)

this is probably just something that was carried over from their racing days. you could easily replace with one pump and plug the other crankcase pulse...
