Hi I need some help trying to get my sled to hook up(99 Vmax 500). The thing is, the track just spins and spins. My 84 Phazer beats it! Another thing is, Im NOT THE BRIGHTEST when it comes to sleds, I'm only 17 and have been around the things for 3 years. I've heard something about transfer rods? (STUDS ARE NOT AN OPTION) So any settings, pictures, diagrams, storys, tuturials, flying to my house to set it up, WOULD BE APPRECIATED!

let the limiter straps out, tighten the preload on the front skid shock, loosen the preload on the rear skid shock. bam! traction! no pics, tutorials, diagrams from me. i am old and computer illiterate. buy me a round trip ticket, i am there. search this site the above procedures and info is here.

Will loosening the preload in the rear make it really soft? I want in to be stiff as I like to jump and ditch bang.

What size of lug is your track? I know my old indy 500 had pretty much nothing for lug depth on it, but it still hooked up fine.
As for my 98 700 V Max, with its mods and no studs and I have still a good 1.25 lug on it. It gets OK traction for the power I am putting out, but I know I need studs.
PS, Why are you not wanting to stud it anyway?

Best thing i did to our 500 was rail extension, 136x2 track, and 8T drivers. Made it a completely different sled.

Like a piece of shit .5 inch track. Why I dont want studs? 1) Cost, 2) Labor(installation, and tunnel protectors..
