I am leaving this to all you pro's.
I need to get an actual snowmobile helmet and was wonder what is the best to go with.
I am tired of the full face motorcycle helmet fogging up.

I used a HJC with electric shield for the last 15 yrs and never a problem with fogging. Wore the padding out of it. I just bought a gmaxx 44s modular with electric shield. Did a lot of research on line and trying on at stores between any helmet i could find and liked the look and fit of this one the best. Hope to see how it works soon. If you go with electric shield on just about any helmet you cant go wrong.

The best helmet is the one that fits you the best and does what you need. It is somewhat debated, but possible that non Snell rated helmets are better at lower speeds than Snell rated helmets. Untill you get into wild colored helmets, price will dictate quality of helmet materials and weight. On a personal note I have never found a Shoei helmet to fit me correctly, and $ is not a concern when it comes to protecting my head.

X2 on the G-Max modular. I have the same helmet with an electric visor and fogging is not a problem for me.

I've used a Gmax without electric shield for the past 9 years and it works well. I removed the breath deflector after I got a higher windshield on my sled. This year I bought a Gmax 68 with the led lights on the back and the flip up tint shield for my motorcycle and I'm going to try it on the sled (with double shield). I like the added visibility the led will provide, but I'm not sure how the 10 vents will be. once closed, and with a balaclava, it should be fine. If I don't like it, then I go back to the old one or I have an excuse to buy another helmet for my collection! I also like Bombardier helmet. My brother in law loves his.

I have used a skidoo modular for 9 years and have never had a problem. Even on a 35 below night it won't fog. Recently in a motorcycle accident I cracked the shell. I contemplated buying a BV2S but my three friends that have one have problems with the shield leaking and icing up. I ended up buying the new modular II and loved it last season. The breath box is a little hard to get used to but its better tha n being plugged in all the time.
Not my favorite looking helmet, but Ive also heard nothing but good about the skidoo bvs helmet.
What motorcycle helmet do you have, you may be able to get an electric double lens sheild for it and save a few bucks.

3 problems I had with the BV2s.
1. Way to hot on above freezing days.
2. Hated having the rubber breath box jammed into my face all day.
3. Breath box freezes up on cold days and builds up with moisture all the time.

The helmet I currently use is actually the helmet I wear when I drag race. Its a G-force, and no they do not make a heated visor for them. But thanks for the suggestion.
Good friend has the BV2 and has said the same as others here. He said that it is too hot and when he starts sweating it still fogs up. He switched to the HJC witht he heated visor and said that works great.

I rock out a bvs2 and love it, yes it can be hot on warmer days but if you crack the visor problem solved and the guys that are having issues with it freezing up if you had read the little instructional booklet you'll see that on super cold days the helmet comes with a solid diaphram for the mouth piece and then one with holes and then on really obnoxious cold days you just remove it..... there's virtually no negatives with that helmet if you know how to use it, even the one touch sun deflector is the shit

well I finally have to put my 2 cents worth in.I had trouble with the BV2s helmet originally and thoiugh I wasted my money.I was always fogging my eyeglasses.Turns out I didn't have the breath guard in the right position all along. You must keep the guard higher up over your nose,I was keeping it lower down to my jaw and air was escaping from on top.Now I adjust it higher up and man it works beautiful.I can now wear my glasses all the time.Even tested it in -31C and had no eye glass issue.Sometimes you will get a little fog on the right side of visor for some reason..don't know why..but it does not obstruct your vision.I am really happy with ther doo helmet that I will not use anything else.Parts are expensive..so take good care of it.I accidentally dropped it on the floor at home while trying to adjust my chin strap..It cracked in the middle about 1.5 inches on the visor.|Coiuld of kept using it I suppose..but went and bought another non electric one for $140... ..
