Hi I have a 99 Vmax 500. Having trouble lately my clutch side always fouls a plug every 40 or so miles. My sled calls for BR9ES. Is there anything that I can SAFELY and RELIABLY put in my VMAX that wont blow it up, and wont foul as often or lean the motor out? Will B9ES Work? Thats all my Auto Store has?

br9eya they foul less but you have a problem that different plugs won't fix. Is you float set right and needle and seat clean?

Its fine, Ill run half a tank of Sea Foam and Premium and maybe that will clear her out. If it doesn't when there is a lull in this snow(hopefully never!) Ill rip the carbs off and go through them.

It doesn't really take that long to clean a set of carbs and once that was done it would eliminate them as a probable cause of your plug fouling.I know that once the riding starts that you don't want any down time but if it was me I would be worried there might be dirt that could lodge in a main jet leaning out that cylinder and then you would not be happy.

Not trying to insult you phazerBILL but I would think anyone with minor mechanical ability could clean a set of carbs in 2-2.5 hours tops and that should include checking the float heights.Peace of mind should be worth a couple of hours riding time.
